We teach equine emergency first aid and equine safety-related training courses. Certification and course materials by Equi-First Aid USA and Equi-Health Canada. We are also certified through the Fear Free © Veterinary Professional Certification Program for Equines.

Equine Health & Emergency First Aid.

Our most popular and comprehensive course! This one-day program covers the type of information needed by your vet in case of injury or illness, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse, injury prevention, and so much more! The course includes a first aid manual and a certificate of completion.

Prerequisite for “Advanced Emergency First Aid”. If you take both courses in combination, the discounted package price is $295 for both courses.

The Advanced Equine First Aid course builds on the Equine Health and Emergency First Aid course. It covers external risk factors, conditioning, safety, working with panicked horses, bleeding wounds, foreign bodies and impalements, severe gut wounds, sucking chest wounds, burns/bites/stings, hoof issues, tendon/ligament damage, broken bones, dehydration and heatstroke, shock, poison, bio-hazards, trapped horses, equipment failures, administering medication, and suturing wounds. The course includes a manual and certificate of completion.

If you take this course in combination with “Equine Health & Emergency First Aid”, the discounted package price is $295 for both courses.

Disaster Planning & Emergency Preparedness.

Disaster Planning & Emergency Preparedness

Cost $159

A MUST for any livestock owner, this course will train you in fire prevention, executing safe evacuation procedures, hidden dangers, and responding to first aid emergencies. It also covers what to do in extreme weather and natural disasters such as wildfires, flooding, wind storms, and more. Planning in advance for an emergency and knowing what to do can save lives.

Don’t be unprepared – we can help you help your animals. This course is suitable for any type of equine operation and is supported by the insurance industry.

Certified Safe Facilities Certification.

Certified Safe Facilities Certification.

Knowledgeable owners, staff, and volunteers can respond quickly and help save lives in an emergency situation. Stand out from your competitors, get additional marketing exposure for your business, and proudly display the Certified Safe designation at your facility. Facilities that meet the following requirements can become Certified Safe by Equi-First Aid USA and are awarded an annual Certified Safe certificate. Your facility will be listed with a photo, website link, and contact information on the Equi-First Aid USA and Equine Support Services websites at no charge to you. Contact us today to begin the Certified Safe program!

Requirements: Host an Equi-First Aid USA-sanctioned Equine Health and Emergency First Aid course, an Equi-First Aid USA-sanctioned Advanced Equine Emergency First Aid course, and an Equi-First Aid USA-sanctioned Disaster Planning and Emergency Preparedness course. Have a representative from your staff or your volunteers participate and receive certification. Host a minimum of two Equi-First Aid USA-sanctioned courses per year with a currently certified Equi-First Aid USA instructor and remain up-to-date on current emergency protocols.

This is a half-day fast-paced clinic covering the fundamentals of first aid. Working hands-on with the horses, you will learn to take vital signs, recognize pain in the horse, detect colic, and participate in lots of bandaging in realistic scenarios. All attendees receive a certificate of completion. Ages 10 and up.

I Can Help! Horse First Aid for Kids.

Cost $59

For kids ages 5-10 years old. This class will teach safety around horses and how to help when a horse does not feel well. This program is designed to prepare kids in a fun and supportive atmosphere and comes with a certificate of completion.
